Keeping Up

It's been a short while since I last keyboard *tick tick tack tok* what I've been up to. . .

First and foremost, A MILLION thank you to my wonderful empress dowager for paying my school fees early. For once, I started my semester on time & need not be rushing to catch up nor rush to begin and complete the first assignments for the semester. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

Its been 4 weeks into my semester and I took a new approach to studying. I took my student services manager's advice to try out LSU (learning skills unit) to help me with my assignments. I never thought much of that place due to my bias judgements that its a place where students with bad english go. I discovered otherwise since!!!

First time I went, I prepared a rough draft and scribbles for Productions & Operations Management's first assignment. I left LSU with more ideas in my head and felt as if Kaye (my LSU advisor) had helped me looked at the assignment from a wider angle of what I went in there with. And what she and I discussed, I brought it to class to have Katia (my productions lecturer) review it.

A new approach I took for myself and my studies. . . Since then, I've booked myself in to see Kaye twice a week in LSU as she guides me while I produce my drafts gradually that will eventually lead to a good final copy of my first assignments (including Industrial Relations). I wonder how it will turn out but my lecturers also reviews my drafts.

Gosh, I don't know if the new approach is a positive touch or not but its kept me busy as LSU appointments and appointments with my lecturer to re-review what I've drafted has helped me fill my free time with studying and research.

To sum it all up, I feel productive and for the first first time, I'm doing justice to myself. I've never realised that my new approach can be so time consuming (in a positive way) and it feels good to enter classes, prepared and being able to interact with the lecturers during lectures and discussions... It is a great feeling and I actually enjoy this new study lifestyle

Its Week 5 next week and then Easter break... I should at least finish one assignment by the Easter break and another at the end of Easter. . . that means ahead of time and I can begin on my group research for Managing Organisational Change and this would lead to the 4000 word professional business report on change management of an organisation in Australia plus look into starting Assignment 2 for Productions & Operations Mgmt (3500 word business report).

I pray I can live through this till Week 12. It would keep me on my toes and busy till exams if I stay this way.

Let's see what this year has in store for me . . . Whatever it holds, I'll leave it in the hands of the lady who watches over me from up above :-)

Hello 2010

Another year has begun. . . Is it me or time passes faster than the speed of light? Or maybe its just quarter of a century old people go through the same phase as me? One minute I was counting down for my Christmas in London with the whole family for the FIRST TIME in EONS OF YEARS!!! And now, I'm back in school again.

Mum pointed out that I never update my blog and I'm finally feeling a wee bit hard working to write a few lines.

It hailed "golf balls" yesterday in Melbourne and the city was heavily flooded a few inches. Thank god I spent the day vegging out at home and not had the feeling of going out. Never have I seen such hailing and its a miracle my apartment's glass didn't crack or break but my poor Sphinx and Berlin were so scared they bolted n hid under the sheets. Hahaha!!! My wonderful car was sleeping safe in my underground car park. Thank God for the urge in myself to hide at home and laze around all day.

Here's the link you can see of the news and pictures of what happened:

For once, I can proudly say. . . vegging out was a bonus :-) Had I been out with my car, my car would probably have a smashed windscreen or the impact of those golf ball hailing would probably cause my car to suffer dents all over or even be stranded because all trains and trams could not run in the flood. . .

Ok, thats all for now... Folks!!!!
